The 8373 IP Zone Paging Adapter provides zone control for existing legacy infrastructure in VoIP environments. The 8373 has a dry page output that directly connects to a legacy amplifier, eliminating the need for a legacy zone controller. The zone paging adapter ensures that the speaker zones behind the legacy amplifier is retained in an IP system. The 8373 has three separate high-powered relays used to switch the output signal of a single amplifier for up to three different groups of speakers, referred to as zones or channels. The zone control relays are activated when either a SIP extension is called, a multicast IP address is received, or a telephone DTMF keypad is input. For large environments, multiple 8373 adapters can be used to support as many page zones as required with a deployment of one 8373 per three-zone amplifier. The 8373 easily integrates into an IP telephone system, whether premise-based or hosted. A single registered zone paging adapter can be configured to multicast to any number or mix of Algo IP endpoints. Multicast can also be mapped to a specific zone on the 8373 or any combination of zones. While the 8373 can replace answering devices and eliminate the need for an FXS port or analog terminal adapter (ATA), it is only recommended for a single amplifier.
